The Cayuse difference

Not a warehouse. A real home in the woods.

Your dog isn't a number here. We keep groups small, the spaces clean, and the days full of fresh mountain air — so pups arrive excited and leave happily worn out.

  • Small, supervised groups.

Dogs are matched by size and temperament — no chaotic free-for-alls.

  • Indoor cabins, not concrete runs.

Climate-comfortable spaces in three sizes for a calm night's sleep.

  • Owner on-site.

The people caring for your dog are the people who run the place.

  • We sweat the details.

Your dog's food, meds, routine and quirks — all noted and honored.

Three cozy cabin sizes

Indoor, draft-free, and just-right. Every guest gets a clean private cabin sized to fit them comfortably — small enough to feel safe, big enough to stretch out and dream of squirrels.

Small

The Cub Cabin

Snug and reassuring for little dogs, seniors, and shy first-timers. Cozy bedding and a quiet corner to settle in.

Medium

The Ranger Cabin

Room to turn around, sprawl out, and relax after a big day of play. The sweet spot for most of our regulars.

Large

The Timber Cabin

Generous space for big breeds and tall stretchers — labs, shepherds, doodles and gentle giants welcome.

Our anxious rescue usually hates boarding, but he trots right in here. We get him back relaxed and happy every single time. It's the only place we trust in the valley.

Clean cabins, big play yards, and people who clearly love dogs. They followed our feeding and meds routine to the letter. Worth every penny.

We do daycare twice a week and our lab comes home pleasantly exhausted. Booking is easy and they always send the cutest update.

Went on a two-week trip and barely worried. Daily photos, a real cabin instead of a cage, and a pup who clearly had a blast. Highly recommend.

Finally a kennel that feels personal. They remembered our girl's name and her favorite toy on visit number two. That's the Bigfork way.

Two big dogs, zero stress. The large cabins are roomy and the staff actually communicate. We've recommended them to half our neighborhood.

Frequently asked questions

What vaccinations do you require?

For everyone's safety, we ask that all guests be current on Rabies, DHPP (distemper/parvo), and Bordetella (kennel cough). Just bring proof from your vet at drop-off, or have them email it ahead of time. Puppies are welcome once their core series is complete.

Do you require a meet-and-greet first?

For first-time overnight guests, yes — a quick meet-and-greet lets us see how your dog settles in and make sure they'll be comfortable. It's free, low-key, and a great chance for you to see the cabins. Daycare-only pups can usually start with a trial day.

What should I pack for my dog?

Just their regular food (pre-portioned is perfect), any medications, and a familiar item or two — a blanket or favorite toy helps them feel at home. We provide clean bedding, bowls, and fresh water. Please label anything you'd like back.

What are drop-off and pick-up times?

We're open Monday, Thursday & Friday 7:30am–5:00pm and Saturday & Sunday 9:00am–5:00pm. Because we're a small, home-based kennel, drop-offs and pick-ups are by scheduled appointment so we can give you our full attention. We'll set an exact time when we confirm your booking.

Can you give my dog medication?

Absolutely, and at no extra charge. Pills, liquids, topicals — just send clear instructions and we'll keep to your dog's normal schedule. For anything specialized (like injections), let us know in advance so we can make sure we're set up for it.

Do dogs from different families play together?

Supervised group play is matched carefully by size, energy, and temperament — and it's always optional. If your dog prefers solo time or one-on-one attention, that's completely fine. We tailor the day to each guest.

How do I pay, and what's your cancellation policy?

We'll confirm payment options when we reply to your request. We just ask for a heads-up if your plans change so we can offer the spot to another pup — especially during busy holiday weeks in the valley.
